Core Competency
1. Basic Sciences:
- Competency in foundational subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pathology.
2. Preclinical Skills:
- Proficiency in preclinical exercises, including dental anatomy, wax carving, and simulation of dental procedures.
3. Clinical Skills:
- Competence in performing clinical procedures such as examinations, diagnosis,treatment planning, and various dental treatments (restorative, prosthodontic, periodontal, etc.).
4. Radiology Competencies:
- Ability to interpret dental radiographs and use imaging technology for diagnostic purposes.
5. Ethics and Professionalism:
- Understanding and adherence to ethical standards and professionalism in patient care, communication, and practice.
6. Patient Management:
- Competency in effectively managing and communicating with patients, including obtaining informed consent and addressing patient concerns.

- Knowledge of basic principles of dental practice management, including infection control, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance.

- Basic research skills, including the ability to critically appraise literature, understand research methodologies, and potentially contribute to dental research.
