THE CAMPUS

ANJARAKANDY Integrated Campus, a 220-acre lush-green historic property is situated on the banks of Anjarakandy River at Anjarakandy, Kannur, Kerala, just 5 Kms away from the proposed Kannur International Airport. The place is in close proximity with major cities and Railway Stations and serviced by all forms of public transport. The nearest Airports are Kozhikode and Mangalore; nearest railway stations are Kannur and Thalassery.
The Integrated Campus has two distinct areas (i) Medical Higher Education (ii) Engineering & Technology campus.
Medical Campus, established in 2005, has a 750-bedded tertiary care Hospital and runs various institutions such as Kannur Medical College, Dental College, College of Pharmacy, Post Graduate Institute of Nursing Sciences, College/School of Nursing, Institute of Para-Medical Science offering degree courses in Medicine (MBBS/MD), Dentistry (BDS), Nursing (GNM/B.Sc (N)/ M.Sc Nursing), Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Para Medical Courses (B.Sc MLT), Physiotherapy (BPT) and various two year Diploma Courses in Cardiology, Neuro Technology, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Dialysis Technology and Operation Theatre Technology. These institutions are approved by Government of India, State Government and Central Councils such as Medical Council of India, Dental/ Nursing/Pharmacy Councils of India and are affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHAS) for awarding degrees. Engineering & Technology Campus established in 2010 offers degree courses in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science Engineering. The Courses are approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and Government of Kerala. The Institution is affiliated to Kannur University.
Anjarakandy Integrated Campus has partnered with international institutions of science and technology to bring the most advanced knowledge to their students and faculty. We have collaborated with University of British Columbia (UBC) Canada, the Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (MAMK), Finland, the University of Gutenberg, Sweden and the University of Rostock, Germany. They have recently opened an Indo-American Alzheimer’s Research Centre at our Hospital. This is the only center in India where a natural approach to cure Alzheimer’s is being investigated.
Well-furnished Hostels exclusively for boys and girls in the same Campus, multiple outlets with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, renowned teachers from India and abroad, digital library with internet connection and having wide range of books and journals (both national and international), fully-equipped laboratories, well-furnished class rooms with audio-visual aids, personality development and communication clinics, a spacious sports ground and health fitness centre, college buses to and fro nearby cities, medical aid and counseling within the Hostel premises, placement centre functioning within the campus, etc., are some of the major facilities available in the Campus.
With a broad vision of making Anjarakandy as the educational hub of South India, the Prestige Educational Trust has been striving hard since 2005 to set up a nucleus of professional institutions.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE INSTITUTION

College of Pharmacy – Kannur Medical College was established, in 2010, under the aegis of the Prestige Education Trust, which has a long track record in the field of medical education and health care, with an objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The institution is committed towards providing value based pharmaceutical education to meet the needs of industry, hospital and community through continuous improvement of infrastructure and facility for learning, practice and research. It is located at Anjarakandy Integrated Campus, 15 km. away from Kannur, Kerala, where many excellent centers of professional education, including Medical College, Dental College, Engineering College, Nursing College/School, Paramedical Institute, etc., are based. A well-equipped and modern Super Speciality Hospital is also functioning in the same Campus. The Campus spread over an area of 220 acre, known as ‘Cinnamon Green Belt’, with imposing buildings, healthy and unpolluted environment and magnificent infrastructure.

In keeping with its objectives of providing the best possible pharmaceutical education, the College has built up a strong infrastructure. This comprises of highly knowledgeable faculty that enable students to gain a contemporary education. The College has fully equipped laboratories, digital library and well furnished class rooms with audio-visual aids such as OHP and LCD projectors, in addition the lush green land sets an excellent educational environment. Regular guest lectures by dignitaries from India and abroad are conducted. Personality development and Communication skills workshops are organised regularly. We believe in overall development of our students.
The College has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls which are well furnished. The hostels are in the same campus and they provide good and safe atmosphere for girls. The residents have quick access to medical aid and counselling within the hostel premises besides in-house laundry facilities. A fully equipped kitchen provides wholesome vegetarian and non vegetarian food, TV and VCD facilities for the recreation. Indeed, the concern, facilities and atmosphere give a soothing feeling to the parents/guardians who leave their wards in our hostel. The hostel has been designed not only to make the stay of the students comfortable, but also to make them feel at home, to boost their morale and to encourage them to study.
